Microdermabrasion
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a way to revitalize and rejuvenate your skin in less than an hour! Tiny crystals are blown gently across the skin surface to remove dead and damaged cells leaving new, softer skin with a more even texture. Microdermabrasion involves the skin being "sandblasted" by aluminum oxide crystals to remove the stratum corneum (top) layer of the skin. Microdermabrasion also promotes the production of new cells in the basal (deepest) layer of the skin.
What does Microdermabrasion treat?
It treats acne-prone skin, rough and uneven skin tone, irregular pigmentation, enlarged pores and mild acne scarring.
What is the typical treatment like and how many will I need?
A complete microdermabrasion treatment takes about 30 minutes, is painless and you can return back to work immediately after being treated. For optimal results, we recommend a series of 6 treatments and maintenance treatments may be needed.
What risks are involved with Microdermabrasion?
It is one of the safest ways to rejuvenate your skin. You may have mild redness after the treatment otherwise it is unusual to develop any complications. However, it may not be right for all skin types and certain conditions.
Who should not be treated with Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion may not be suitable for patients with rosacea or broken facial capillaries. Also persons with a sunburn should not receive this treatment.
